Folk AW21 - A Collage of Land & Sea
Taking an outdoors-inspired journey through texture, light and colour, Folk’s AW21 collection emphasises upon the space between land and sea.
With a focus on collage and reassembly, Folk have taken the concept of overlapping and patch working to a new level, providing a selection of garments that features panelling, embroidery, and subtle contrast textures, yet still maintaining the simple, yet focused design that has become synonymous with Folk.
This season’s colours have been carefully selected from the organic autumnal palette provided by nature itself; with a warming base of deep navy, fern, tan and oxblood, and accentuated with lighter tones of blue, green and thistle.
As the months have now become colder, we have found ourselves stretching out our hands for those thicker, more comforting items of our wardrobe.
Some may find it sad, and some may adore it, but just a T-shirt won’t cut it in these months. It is verging on the time where layering up is essential; but with layering, comes almost an infinite array of stylistic choices.
To get you through the colder months, Folk has provided what could be a new go-to to keep off that incoming cold bite.
Here is the Funnel Fleece in the beautiful earthen Mineral Green colouring. As always, Folk desires to keep it minimal, with only subtle left hem branding in the form of their signature circular rubber patch.
This casual fleece features a funnel neck with a quarter neck zip fastening, to allow adjustment in the time of year when the sun still shows a chance of peaking through.
Constructed from a heavy pile fleece for extra comfort, the Funnel Fleece also features a large kangaroo pocket at the front to rest your hands, or to use in emergencies to keep them warm.
The Funnel Fleece is also available in a deep Navy Blue colourway.
The Signal Blouson Jacket is an essential outer layer that holds together the outfit by maintaining a smart and refined shape and construction.
The Signal Blouson Jacket is made with a thick wale cotton corduroy, with a full zip through closure, regular collar with button flap cuff adjusters to keep the fit true to your body.
With the addition of two unique slanted front pockets, this piece takes casual outerwear to the next level.
Match up the Signal Blouson Jacket with the Signal Pant and you’re set. A contemporary workwear inspired suit in the making.
This pair comes in the Washed Ink Blue colourway, made from a heavy 11 wale cord which gives depth and character to the trousers whilst also providing a soft hand-feel.
With front and rear welt pockets, with zip and profile stitch detailing at the rear, and a cotton twill rullo drawcord at the front which fastens into a tubular metal cord end.
Just because it’s no longer summer, doesn’t mean a shirt isn’t sometimes the ideal choice.
The Patch Check Shirt in Navy Blue covers all the bases; cut in a regular fit, with a classic, regular collar, the finishing touch is the hidden button placket which provides a streamlined profile.
Working with simple patterns, Folk takes an approach with a focus on the quality, textures and characteristics of fabrications and trims. Everything is taken into account, from the thread colour, to the pocket lining.
Folk’s approach has led them to establish themselves beyond just clothing to the point of now being a multidiscipline design studio of furniture, objects and artworks.
Constantly improving and forever adapting, yet still maintaining their own unique identity.
